RE-GREEN: "Preservation saves energy by taking advantage of the nonrecoverable energy embodied in an existing building and extending the use of it" 1 If you are in need of a simple addition or modification to your existing home, plans may be needed to complete the process. While some officially developed programs are not available to re-green efforts, such as ENERGY STAR certification, there are many things that can be done to reduce your dependency on natural resources, and minimize your energy costs. Guidelines are devoped to help performance, as outlined in the LEED for existing homes program and basic ENERGY STAR weatherization. The bottom line is, these are guides to improve construction as a whole and it's effect on the built environment. GPD utilizations these recommendations during the design phase, however, does not necessarily limit. SERVICES by CATEGORY: Re-Green Construction- Additions, modifications.
