While there is still much debate over these topics, some findings are unequivocal. REPORTS: The leading international network of climate scientists, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), released a 2007 assessment report on the future of our climate1. "The climate change report acknowledges with 90 percent certainty, unequivocally, human-impacted global warming." Until recently, the US ranked #1 as a global warming polluter compared to other large nations. It now ranks #2 to China, according to the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, by a mere margin of 8 percent. What is the ratio per person? It has been said... "That many in the design profession have ignored the Global warning signs; Those who are slow to respond, apparently, have been waiting for more proof or for their clients to take the initiative!"
DID YOU KNOW...
...that the IPCC states that warming and its harmful consequences “could be substantially blunted by proper action?”

The built environment is the single most significant contributor to carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
Increasing at almost 2 percent per year since 1990, CO2 emissions from residential and commercial buildings are expected to continue to increase at a rate of 1.4 percent annually through 2025. (According to report of findings published by the Pew center on Global Climate Change) A FInal thought from the IPCC: "Some planned adaptation (of human activities) is occurring now; more extensive adaptation is required to reduce vulnerability to climate change. Unmitigated climate change would, in the long term, be likely to exceed the capacity of natural, managed and human systems to adapt.1" HOW YOU CAN HELP (With links to cited works from this section.)
